As difficult as it was to tear ourselves away from the pool and the bar, we managed a group outing to Playa del Carmen one morning to browse the touristy shops, buy souvenirs, and check out the selection of cheap prescription drugs (just kidding, we couldn't find any this time). Joe failed in his attempt to pull together his pesos and purchase sunscreen that was less expensive than what they sold at the resort. So we ended up being sunscreen moochers for the rest of the vacation. However, we did succeed in getting Cece and Michaela matching dresses, so if nothing else, the trip was a success for that reason.
