Visiting the Easter Bunny!

Happy belated Easter from our family! I never got around to posting our pics from our encounter with the Easter Bunny, so here they are before they get lost in our computer and I don't find them until next year.

Rosie loved meeting and high-fiving the bunny but had no interest in sitting on his lap.

Cece had no qualms.

And Rosie was appreciative of the bracelet Rosie recived from the Easter Bunny's entourage. Easter itself was spent in St. Cloud with cousins and candy. The day was chilly and soggy, but didn't deter any kids from egg-hunting. I admire their perseverance and I thanked them for even finding my egg out in the yard. I hope you had a lovely Easter Sunday! Also hoping to be posting more frequently again... once things are a little less busy!

Easter 2015

 

What is more egg-cellent than Olaf the snow man Easter eggs?

(Perhaps ham and cheesy potatoes. That's what.)

 

But really, Easter was lovely. We stayed in St. Cloud this weekend and on Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of Christ, spring, and new beginnings.
 

 

Cece and Michaela had the time of their lives riding on Michaela's four-wheeler. Click here for a hilarious video of these two goofs. It's getting all too easy to envision them as grade-schoolers and teenagers still having the best time together. (Hoping they don't crash into quite as much stuff when they area older though!)

 

Our little Rosie Posie was not feeling the greatest this weekend, but she did pull it together for a few bunny ear photos.

Even though this was a frigid Easter (at least it felt that way to me), Cece still had plenty of enthusiasm for egg-hunting. Her basket was mounded high with eggs and she even was happy to go back outside to help Joe and I find our own eggs.

 

Ooh look! This pretty talkative little lady has been long overdue for an appearance on my blog. Lookin' good, Elise!

 

 

 

As usual, during holidays, we try to get a family photo. Which works out. Sometimes. Here are the shots where people weren't flailing.

 

Thank you again to my in-laws for hosting yet another fun-filled holiday! It's never easy being away from my family in Chicago so much for holidays, but Joe's family has certainly become my home away from home and I'm so glad my girls have such a

Easter 2014

 

 

 

 

 

 

After so many months of such a cold and icky winter, it felt wonderful to spend most of Easter Sunday outdoors with Joe's family in St. Cloud. It was such a beautiful day. With Easter being about hope, new beginnings, and new life, it felt like a perfect day to celebrate. The kids enjoyed multiple Easter egg hunts (Cece and Joe enjoyed a nap while the second hunt was taking place.) I was happy to just enjoy the sunshine and the occasional chocolate egg. (Also, I was thrilled that the girls and I managed to get dresses on and stay in them almost all day!)

And since there were so many of us present at Easter, Angela took some updated family photos, since the family has grown so much in just a few years. We is a classy group, no?

Easter Sunday 2013

 

 

 

 

This year's Easter Sunday consisted of a small-ish crowd in St. Cloud. I was glad for the snow finally melting and plenty of ham and cheesy potatoes to go around. Cece got a head start on the egg hunt and learned the art of unwrapping foil-covered chocolate eggs REALLY fast. She also kindly dispersed every piece of Easter grass all over Grandma and Grandpa's first floor. (Sorrrrrry!)

 

 I wanted to get one cute posed shot of the little ladies. Instead I got lots of Cece's tongue hanging out, her rejection of pigtails, and some impromptu cousin hugs. So, naturally, I love these pictures (and I love these girls!).

Easter Bunny: 1, Santa: 0

 

 

 

I'm thrilled to announce that meeting the Easter Bunny was far less traumatic than meeting Santa Claus. Cece gave the bunny hugs and high-fives. And he gave her peeps. (Which we shared. Peeps are awesome.) It was a win, win, win.

Cece and are going to be Chicago-bound soon and I'm not sure when I'll get to posting again.

Easter and BIRTHDAY WEEK!

Our entire family was so tuckered out after Easter/ birthday weekend in St. Cloud. The dogs look like they have aged several years and have only gotten out of their beds to go outside, and they're even reluctant to do that. And last night we all slept very soundly, as we were stuffed to the brim with birthday cake, peeps, ham, cheesy potatoes, etc. Which was kind of awesome.

Friday was my main man's birthday. It was a low-key day, as he had to work and wasn't feeling the best afterwards. Still, I got the recipe for Heavenly Hash from his sisters and baked that along with a cute little cake. I think Joe is aging nicely... like a fine wine or a good cheese. Even though we didn't do anything fancy, it was still nice to celebrate by having some good eats and taking the kiddo and the dogs for a nice long walk.

We ventured up to St. Cloud on Saturday morning and attended Reimer Easter at Joe's grandparents. It was cool to have Cece meet some new family members and she very much enjoyed the little cousins. On Saturday night, Joe and I snuck in a date to go see The Hunger Games while his parents so very kindly babysat for us. I loved having just a little grown-up time, even if it was to see a PG-13 movie.

And Sunday was Easter (and Rachel's 18th birthday! Note the awesome angel food cake... and her blowing out lit matches since we didn't have candles : ). This was spent at the in-laws. Lots of eating, playing, and egg hunting. The men paintballed. The ladies had lady and baby time. All in all, a great day.

Lastly, I just want to wish, once more, all of the April peeps (Joe, Rachel, Danielle, Eric, and Kim) a very very happy birthday!
