Our highly-anticipated Disney vacation has come and gone far too quickly! Last week (as the snow and frigid weather hit the Midwest) my mom, sister, Joe, the girls, and I traveled to sunny Florida and stayed at the Art of Animation Resort which provided wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling Disney movie mania. The grounds had life-sized scenes from various Disney movies including the Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo.
When I was younger, the Disney experience was fairly uncomplicated. Drive to Florida, stay in a hotel, drive to the theme park, purchase tickets, take photos with disposable camera and have fun!
This time it was a whirlwind of flying on an airplane with my own children, figuring out Disney's Magical Express, using My Disney Experience, using magic bands, debating the dining plan, debating the Memory Maker Package, choosing which attractions we wanted the Fast Pass for, and just navigating Disney in general. We (sort of) joked that we were being held hostage by Mickey because it was just odd not having a car and not coming and going as we pleased. But seriously, we really did have an amazing time. Now that we've done it once, I'm confident that we could make it happen again someday.
The most fun we had while at the resort (besides enjoying our Little Mermaid-themed room) was, of course, the pool! Cece couldn't get enough of the spray ground and Rosie loved floating around in the Finding Nemo pool.
Cheers! And how fun was it to have a poolside drink or two with this girl? (Quite fun.) Getting to go on a vacation with my original partner in crime (or more truthfully, partner in dorky childhood activities) and seeing her be the sweetest aunt with my little girls was an absolute treat in itself!
