A Swell Summer Evening

 

Earlier this week, Joe dropped us girls off at Minnehaha Falls. He had to do some grass-cutting nearby and met up with us later. So, Cece got to see her first waterfall of the season and we got to listen to some lovely Music from the Land of OZ. My dear friend Azure serenaded us with "Over the Rainbow" and Cece danced in the aisles for nearly the entire hour that we were there. (I had flashbacks to when Robbyn and I were younger and couldn't resist dancing to everything and anything.) Rosie even held it together for most of the evening. Joe met us as the concert was finishing up and then we went to (you guessed it!) Dairy Queen. That establishment is taking all of our money, I swear...

The Fresh Beat Band was the first TV show that Cece really got into (and of course, I got way into it too).When Joe bought us tickets to see them live back in March, I really felt the day of the concert would NEVER come.

 

So, last night was a blast. The theater was filled with little screaming kids, over-priced souvenirs, overly excited moms, and the biggest smiles EVER. I couldn't figure out what to watch- Cece singing and dancing with her microphone, or the Fresh Beats themselves (who are all adorable by the way. If I could sing at all, I totally would be in the band.).

 

I took some video with my Canon (only to realize I had the sound turned off later, BUMMER!). But I still got took some video of Cece singing and dancing on my phone. I'm so glad we went! Til next time, Fresh Beats!

 

Cecelia's First Concert

This afternoon, I went on a rather brave outing with the C Monster. I had planned to go to a dear friend's Christmas concert and thought, why not bring the baby? She'll loooove the music. Maybe so much that she'll even take a snooze? So, Cece went to her first concert. In a church. To listen to a chamber choir and orchestra. How classy are we?And she did not nap, but she did  like it. In fact, I'm pretty she even tried to sing along. Even though we were sitting in the back, I got a little nervous about her making it through the second half. I called Joe just as he was finishing work and errands, and he picked her up during intermission. Although I was by myself for part II, it was a lovely, lovely concert and absolutely got me in the Christmas spirit (not that I wasn't already!)
